Has anyone tried fitting 71/72 front bumpers overriders onto a 73? I am considering doing so and would be grateful for any advice.

The bumpers in the '73 are different than the '71/'72 bumpers, so I don't think the overriders will work. When I hit a deer two years ago, I had to replace the bonnet, and got a used '73 bonnet. We had to weld up the hole in the bonnet and remove the piston/strut in order to install the '72 bumpers/overriders. You can't simply remove the '73 "overriders", they are connected to a shock absorbing strut that helped them meet increased low-speed crash tests that were imposed by the US government.
