I have Fuzion tires on my 1997 XK8. So far, 22,670 miles and will probably get 25,000 miles of 50/50 highway/city driving. I paid $725 for a set of four at Firestone. I paid $960 for Michelins which gave me 15,000 miles. If you are not racing, why pay twice as much for MIchelins?

I'm curious as to why you paid so much for your Michelins. I got a set of four Michelin MXV4's from Tire Rack for less than $600.00. Whenever I have bought tires for my car, my son's cdar or my grandaughter's, I price them at a dealer, then go to Tire Rack. You'd be amazed at the dealer mark-up for the same tire. Getting new tires balanced and mounted has never been a problem either, my guy even stores my winter/summer tires as part of the mounting package.
When you consider the overhead associated with "full service" tire dealerships...it just makes sense to me to shop from a warehouse.
