This is a young boys dream come true. As a kid I was always captivated by my neighbors three E-Type coupes. To me, there has never been a prettier, more well designed auto than the E-Type. British iron just got in my blood. My first car was a '67 Austin Healey Sprite, followed by a '62 AH 3000 Mk. II tri-carb. But oh, to own and enjoy an E-Type! That would be the ultimate. Well, dreams do come true! I found Carmen (as my six year old named her) in August 2003. She was a one owner car located in the midwest. She was built on January 24-25, 1968 and shipped to the US on February 1st. Her first owner took delivery on September 19, 1968 and owned her until I purchased her in September 2003 some 35 years later. She has all of her original equipment including a functioning A/C. Other than changing out fluids and installing electronic ignition, she has not needed anything but driving. At her maiden JCNA show she took first place, D3 class with nothing more than a good wash, polish and wax. I truely count myself blessed to be her caretaker until the next generation (namely my daughter) takes her over.
