I need to replace my low beams and was hoping to buy the top of the line Sylvania Ultra Vision bulbs in the orange colored pack that I use in my 2001 Jaguar S Type 4.0. However, they do not make that bulb in a H1. They do manufacture the Silver in H1, but only in a single pack. The OEM bulb is 55W with a light output of 3200. I have seen some HID conversions, not needing modification, at 55W with a reported light output of 6000. My primary concern is heat and possible damage to
plastc enclosure. Anyone have any experience with this? I would like a
brighter white light beam such as the Sylvania Ultra Vision.

Thanks,

Scott

UPDATE -- I purchased Sylvania Silver Star bulbs at 4000K. Vision is
excellent.

Wattage is a measure of power used which will result in heat and light. The 3000 and 6000 are called temperature but actually the light spectrum. The higher the number, the "whiter" the light. Generally, all 55 watt bulbs should put out the same heat and draw the same amperage.
