I am getting to the end of a long restoration project on my 1969 E-Type. I spent the day looking for a battery that is the correct size and ended up finding a battery with the diminutions of 8.25H x 9.375W x 6.75W it is manufactured by Deka and is Part Number 522FMF. The supplier I found indicated that this is the original size of the battery per his reference material. The height is from the bottom to the top of the battery post. I also need to confirm that the positive post is on the right and oriented to the front or outside of the car as opposed to the inside. Can anyone confirm the size as being the original and also confirm the orientation of the posts? I also need to know just how the battery is judged as the true original is no longer available.

Thanks,
Don Korock

Got it. By the way, didnÔÇÖt mean to repeat myself above, found that if I refresh the browser to see the latest thread it would resend the last thread. Have a great day, thanks again for your help.

Perfect, Thanks! One last thing I was not clear on, I understand the positive and negative orientation of the battery but not whether the terminals are closer to the outside of the car or inside. I believe toward the outside is correct but need confirmation.

Hi George,
I had a feeling you would be the one to respond. Not sure if I understand your response correctly. Do you have a Lucus battery available for sale?

Don I happen to have a NOS dry charged battery for a series 2. Positive post is inside of the filler bar and toward the rear of the car. Neg is of course toward the front of the car and on the engine sife of the filler bar. It is a Lucas Pacemaker!
