Need help in choosing the best tire for my 1969 E-Type. I will be showing the car and want to know what brand and model is the most used in the high point cars these days.

Tires
Those are not the correct size for the car--you will (or should) rec. a deduction. Further all 5 tires need to match and the 205 will not fit into your spare tire well and allow the lid to close---if budget is in play get the Vreds. You will not rec a deduction and they will work well---just curious what rule did you read---are you planning on entering in driven class of championship?

Tires
George, thanks for the input. I inquired about the tire issue with someone in JCNA because after reading the rules it seemed that the P205/70 x 15 were now acceptable without deduction. He confirmed this is true. I did see the Dunlops on line and they run almost 3 times as much as the P205/70 x 15. Still may do the Dunlops but... I have somewhat limited budget nearing the end of this project. Would like your input on the 205's and if you have heard any different on deductions etc.

Tires
DOn it seems like you are trying to get this right--so why not buy the original tires. The Dunlop 185 SPs are available from several vendors--they are correct --the speed rating has been changed due to regulations in the European Union but that is not deductable. There are other tires that will work such as Vredistiens (spelling) which will not cause a deduction if you purchase the 185x15. Please let me know if you have any further questions and let us see some pictures please!
Don thanks for that info--consider it recorded! Good luck with your car.
