Hi, another difficult question to ask where I don't want to know the answer to!
Found debris in my oil sump. See pics. The large pieces seem to look like shredded thin metal. The smaller pieces have shiny and look like brass.
Where did this stuff come from. Since I had the sump off to replace the gasket(to fix an oil leak), I inspected the bottom of the engine. There really does not look like there is anything that looks out of place, metal on metal interaction, no scrapes or scratches anywhere. It all looks really good!
Any suggestions. Attached are some pics.

Hi Marco,
Finding metal in the oil is as you indicated pretty scary because of what it would suggest going wrong.
I do not know what kind of car you have but since it is brass or copper this should narrow down the possibilities.
I hate to answer your question with a question, but is it possible that these are shims?
