JCNA celebrates the 50th birthday of the E Type
Well Patrick I think the public announcement is the accepted date but why not celebrate it as it approaches? Take a look at the sample all E calendar in a few days--your car might be in it if you want--

JCNA celebrates the 50th birthday of the E Type
So exactly what date is considered the "birth" of the E-Type? :-)
I guess it's 1961. The reason I asked is that I usually produce the poster for our concours. I have some outstanding professionally studio-produced photos of my RHD '66 E-Type,

and was just wondering if I should hold off using them until 2011.
This is a car I've owned for 37 years, and I certainly had my fun with her in my much younger (and single) days. Truth be told, I grew tired of the maintenance and of the shows, and, she was too perfect to turn into a driver. So I recently sold it at auction for 6 figures.
Luckily, she is going back across the pond to the U.K. where she belongs. It was simply time to pass the torch. I'm also glad she didn't sell here locally where I would have to continue seeing the car every year at concours.
I now have one more project car to finish, and I'm hoping its my last.

If / when I ever buy another classic, she will have already been restored; have a working air conditioner; no convertibles; and probably an American muscle car that I can actually fit into....something like a '67 GTO. The E-Type, despite its wonderfull lines, is a bear to get into and out of when you are 6'2" and 200 lbs.
Best regards,
Patrick
