Restoring a 73 E Type and am ready to get all of the front suspension and several other pieces cad plated. Does anyone have a good source? I am in central Wisconsin, so somewhere nearby is preferable. I will ship the parts if necessary, but I would prefer to deliver myself and am willing to drive a ways. Thanks.

Sounds interesting. I am curious how you identify which stuff is yours when it is all thrown together. Wouldn't be hard with the bigger stuff, but when you start getting down to nuts and bolts and such seems like it might get more difficult. Hope your surgery works out well for you. I know it cant be fun.

morning ray, no caps as i had rotator cull surrgey yesterday and the left arm is still numb. don basically charges, at least he did the last time i was there a couple of years ago, by the bucketful. sooooo- the cost ends up the same for a few small parts or twice as many. i had just taken a few 15-20 small parts in to be plated when i got a phone call from a good buddy in oregon looking for a cad plater, i told him about don and told him that if i could hold up my order he could ship me his parts and we'd throw altogether and split the cost, which is what we did. as the cost didn't go up with the extra parts i ended up paying only half of the original quoted cost.

Thanks Bob. Just starting to investigate. I have all of the Front suspension ready but I should probably get more of the othe cad parts ready as well. Do you know if they have any problem doing small jobs? If I drive over, I will be sure to give you a ring. Must be nice to have a plater so close.

Hi Ray, There is a shop in Plymouth, Mi that still does cad plating. I and many folks in the Mi Jag club have had plating done there over the years. His charges are super reasonable but all parts that he receives MUST be grease free, I can't over stress that, as he'lll send the whole shipment back if any grease is found. The owner's name is Don and if you do decide to drive the parts over make sure to call me as we live only about 2 miles from his shop. Bob 734-455-5039
