As I cycle my Jags out of storage to keep them fresh one is showing no oil pressure, warning light is on. Had oil pressure when put away this spring. 1996 XJ12, 72,000 miles. Before I take it down the road or even start it agian how can I confirm it is indeed pumping oil. No oil pressure at idle, none when I rev slightly, no rattles or ticks from the lifters. Oil on the dip stick reads full. I presume a faulty reading/sensor is all that is going on but... assumption is the mother of all F#*K ups.

no oil pressure
I have just looked and confirmed you have an all in one switch. An improved type is available from non dealer sources part no JLM20791. Fingers crossed

no oil pressure
I would remove the oil pressure switch, at the rear of the engine under the throttle linkage. Fit a manual gauge into the adaptor and start the motor watching the gauge. I believe that the car has separate switches for the gauge and the light, if so,it is likely there is no oil pressure. But, it may have the later 2 in 1 gauge, which could affect both! I will look at my 94 VDP later. You have of course checked the oil level!!
Bad pressure switch it is... thank you for your time and the part number, it is appreciated.
