My '89 XJS just mills when trying to start. Just recently replaced battery and it started. Left it sit for about two weeks and won't start again. I have a CD repair manual and traced "Main Feed" pin #22 and I get a full 12-volts into the circuit. What gives?

Batteries come now dry charged, usually enough to start a car no problem....... A battery disconnect or battery tender are probably what you need to get to keep the battery from dying prematurely............. Art

Victor do you have spark? Do you have correct fuel pressure? Sorry but if the engine just turns over that is where you MUST begin. As far as the XJ6 --do you have full battery current to the starter? It is obivious your sol. is clicking in but either it is bad or the current to the starter motor is interupted or the starter motor has packed it in. What happens if you jump full current to the main lug of the starter?

Hi Victor,
12 volt power goes from the bulkhead / firewall US Passenger side , directly above the starter down to the starter motor, make sure the nut securing the power lead is tight , and also has a full 12 volts or better...
Try turning the engine with a socket on the front engine pulley nut, 7/8 inch I believe. to make sure it is not seized or similar, PS turn engine clockwise direction..... Also put battery on charge and check again. perhaps battery is a bad one ...warranty check...
