Traction control turns itself off after about 50' of driving and won't turn back on using the traction off button. Any suggestions on what is the cause?

Thanks to all for the help! Is there a way with a multi-meter to check the wheel sensors?
I did have it on a slick parking lot today. After the restart and before the thing shut itself down the system did engage and worked........for fifty feet then turned off. I'll try the battery disconnect method and see if this works. Does the traction control also work with the ABS? I don't get an ABS light at all. Just curious. This is my first Jaguar. I think if this thing dies I'll go right out and buy another one. I love it.
Thanks again...Mike...

Hey, Doug.
Tried several times to find you in Longview.
Even went through once, no listing found.

I figured the listing might be under first name or something.

Anyway, got any tips?

Dave, up near Seattle..............

I don't know the cause but I might know the fix......

I've had three episodes of erratic traction control operation that came along for no known reason. The first time the problem solved itself.

The second time, a year later, I removed and cleaned the connector at the TC unit itself and all was well for a long time.

The third time, just recently, the system deactivated itself after a stuck-in-snow incident where the system, apparently, went a little nuts trying to do its job....which I'm told is normal., as it "gives up" after a certain point. In that case it reset itself after a couple of key cycles.

Dirty wheel speed sensors can cause weird symptoms.

Other have reported that disconnecting the battery for a few minutes sorta reboots the system.

Sorry I don't have anything more concrete.

Good luck

Cheers
