I'm confused (and this does not happen very often!). I was always under the impression that Jaguar imported and offered the 4.0 liter, six cylinder XJS coupe (not convertible) in 5 speed manual version in the USA. I believe they were available in 1994 only? Or perhaps 1993 and 1992 also? But not 1995?
Does anybody have access to importation numbers for 4.0 liter, 5-speed XJS coupes in the USA? Anybody ever seen one?
PS: I live in Canada and have definitely seen a 5-speed, 4.0 liter XJS coupe up here, although I would be very surprised if Jaguar Canada sold more than a handful of them as there was not much demand.
PPS: I am aware of the 3.6 liter 5-speeds that Jaguar brought in as corporate test cars. Not talking about those here.
Thanks,
Daniel

Help?! 6 cylinder, 4.0 liter, 5-speed coupes in USA?
Doug,
five were sold at MCL Vancouver for sure, one came out from MCL one time and blew my doors right off, that was of course when I was in Stock category. Dean Cusano is really doing great times with his 4.0 right now and doing the same. I have however invested in a new set of tyres for this year........13 inches wide . Hopefully my new engine will also be available soon to prepare for the season........

The only one I've ever seen in the flesh is a Candian coupe from the BC neck o' the woods.
I've never seen a USA version with my own two eyes but about 200 were brought in. I've seen 5-6 come up on Ebay over the last few years so they're out there.
All the ones I've seen on Ebay have been coupes but that doesn't prove anything.
I'd love to have one :-)
Cheers

Yowza Dan,
If I'm not mistaken, a member of our Club, Jaguar Club of Southern New England has one and currently hold the record with it in Slalom.
I believe Dean said the cars sort of got "under the curtain" as special orders for the dealers/salesmen. Don't know exactly how many but was under the impression it was less than 50 total.
Good Health to You, Bob Lovell
