I'm the proud owner of recently purchased 1996 XJ12 LWB. While I know the car was originally imported into San Francisco, I want to confirm the number of this year and model that made it into North America.
As it only has 21000 miles on it, I am preparing it for showing and would like to be able to present data on it (I believe it to be somewhat rare)
Can anyone help? Please feel free to e-mail me at the above address
With thanks!
Mark

Thanks Corey. Will definitely be investing in upgrading/renewing the suspension.

New shocks, bushings and ball joints most likely are the culprit. Most likely yours are stock and very tired, do you notice occassional wiggling of the steering wheel going down hill... ball joints. Tires they come w/perrilli but they wear too fast, nice tire but over priced. I'm not a tire expert by no means but if they are not like new just replace with a quality x rated tire and if you do the above you will notice the differance, I run Michellin, Dunlop and Goodyear your '96 should be smooth as silk at 150+mph if not keep updating suspension consumables until it is.

1996 XJ12 LWB
One of Nineteen,
My 96 XJ12 doesn't quite ride properly on the highway - seems a bit loose and I have to work too hard. Have any other XJ12 owners made mods to the suspension? New shocks (I'm thinking they are the culpret). Also - what tires are you running. I have Falken 452's w/ standard chrome rims. Any insights appreciated as I really want this car to run as perfect as she looks... If shocks and bushings, any recommendations?

1996 XJ12 LWB
For 1996 the last year XJ12's were produced all are LWB models. Only 249 produced and only about 180ish made it to the states. I have 10 of them and I am always looking for more diamonds in the ruff. I show a couple of mine locally and to find one with 21,000 miles is indeed rare, the best I have done is 47,000 but is she ever a cherry. The rest range from 52,000 to 92,000. My daily driver is now at 106,000 but with a few enhacements from AJ Enginnering this an absolute blast to drive on the red light grand prix, makes allot of BMW's and Audi's look silly. Good luck and if you ever get around to selling with still low miles contact me 1st. cdorseylorman.com or 715 829 1213.

1996 XJ12 LWB
HI Mark,
I'm on my 2nd 1996 XJ12. I believe all the 96 models were LWB, and all the 95 cars were standard wheelbase. I believe that fewer than 200 of th 96 XJ12's were importing into North America. The number I recall is something like 196 or 197...
MIne has 33,000 miles on it, and yours has the lowest mileage I've seen. My last one had about 70K when I sold it.

1996 XJ12 LWB
I can't swear that this is 100% accurate as its thrid hand info but I think it should be close, at least.....
4165 V12 "X300" cars were built (I can't remember the true designation...maybe X305?).
1828 Jaguar, 2337 Daimler
729 were "overseas" models (exact market not specified). Of those, 62 were 1996 cars. That is, they were built in calendar year 1996. I've never found a model year breakdown.
Cheers

Everyone:
Thanks for the feed back regarding the 1996 XJ12 (X305). While the numbers are varied, they are quite impressive:
- 1828 X305s XJ12 produced,
- fewer than 200 XJ12's were imported into North America,
- the unclear part...what were the number of XJ12 LWB imported? The number varies between a high of
Regardless, that is still very rare and worthy of pampering.
Cheers!
