I am restoring a pair of tail light brackets on a 1952 FHC 120. I removed the paint and I am in the process of sanding and or polishing them.
What is the correct finish? Should they be left a dull aluminum which is what you get with 1500- 3000 wet sanding, or should they be polished bright with an aluminum polish?
Were the originals protected with a coat of lacquer? What are your thoughts on a satin clear finish.
