I bought a beautiful 1967 420G saloon with the idea of restoring it and using it and have not had the time to work on it. I am now moving and can't take it with me.

I basically have two options: send it to get scrapped or give it away to a Jaguar enthusiast who will appreciate it. I prefer the later as I have a special place in my heart for it.

There was a very limited production of these cars and it is a great reflection of an oppulent era. It is a beautiful sedan with leather, amazing woodwork (including 2 foldable tables in the back), electric windows, etc., all in good condition. The car is in decent shape, but needs some work. In the hands of a knowledgeable enthusiast, it can easily be restored with not a lot of investment.

All you need to do is arrange for it to be picked up (or pick it up yourself) and it is yours. Papers included obviously. If you do take it, all I ask is that once it is restored you take me for a ride.

My apologies to all those that I spoke with in May that expressed interest in the car. I did indeed say to JAM that he could have it, but my move was very hectic and I ultimately simply did not have the opportunity to even give the car away before leaving the country. IT IS STILL IN STORAGE AND I AM GIVING IT AWAY. (same pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/58704381@N00/?saved=1)

I will be back in the Miami area next week for 2 days and will indeed seek to dispose of the vehicle. Given that I have paid for storage since May, I am looking to recoup as much of the cost of the storage as possible. Since May I have paid $225 per month, so about $1575.

The car is housed at a USTORE IT facility at the following address: USTORE IT #0574 located at 2010 NE 7th Avenue, Dania Beach FL 33044

I will give the car to whoever offers an amount closest to the $1575 I have spent on storage since May and can pick it up at that location next Thursday, Jan. 29 or is otherwise willing to take over the storage contract, which requires going in person to the location.

Since several people had expressed an interest, please consider this open notice for anyone interested. In order to be fair and orderly, I will accept offers until Monday Jan 26 12:00 midday EST or unless someone offers the full $1575 first.

You may contact me by email at anannettiatyahoo.com or at 917 546 0998 if you have any questions.

well I don't have evidence to call this a scam, I still think Andres sounded like an honest man, so I have decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he decided to surprise us and give each caller a piece of the car? I mean, it is big enough for a bunch of us greedy scavengers to have a bite, isn't it? If not THAT, then we are paying the price for greed.
Regardless, the May 13 deadline has passed.

I am also wondering what happened to the San Diego XJ-S V12 being given away a day later....

Well I thought I was the first, a friend in Georgia has been looking for a 420G and I called Andres, then my friend, they discussed it and my friend was willing to go and pick it up and even pay a token amount if the car was as described! Since then nothing so we thought it was possibly a scam or a person who just had too much to do!

well, according to Andres, I was the FIRST to call and leave him a message of interest.

He called me back on Friday May 9th, we spoke for a while, and he assured me "the car was mine".

I inmediately made arrangements with a friend in Orlando to go get the car since he has a car-hauler. But I have not heard from Andres, I have left him two messages since May 9, but no reply.

What might have happened, (just supposing since I have no evidence), is that someone offered him money for it, and he was obviously happy to sell it instead of giving it away.

Based on my conversation with Andres, he sounded like an educated man. I am of course,
surprised at the lack of follow-up on his part, because had he told me, "I want some money for it", but that was not what he told me, and I even asked him if he was trying to sell it before giving it way. He stated "no, the car is yours".

the car will surface sooner or later, and we will know what really happened, who really got it, and how much was paid for it, if it was indeed sold to someone.
