I want to upgrade the radio in my 95 XJS. I've seen instructions for upgrading the radio in a 88 and 89 XJS, but haven't found any instructions for a 95 XJS. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

95 XJS: How do I remove and install new radio?
I was going to tell you to go to the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust at www.jdht.com and under the heading eShop you'd find the technical manuals for your car. It comes on a CD rom and has all the information except, it appears, what you need. It does show exploded views of the dash but it doesn't appear that Jaguar ever considered replacement of the Radio.

It's not as hard as it sounds
The wiring on the 95 is standard color coding for radios.
Remove the trim around the shifter
Pull off the fan and temp control knobs.
Undo the hold down "nuts" behind the knobs with a screwdriver.
Remove (tug gently) the trim for the radio and climate controls
There's 2 screws holding the radio in place, undo those and remove the radio.
The exciting part is figuring out how to transfer those two metal brackets onto your new radio. It's not a typical installation so you'll have some fun figuring out how to make that go. JB Weld might be your best friend here. I purchased a blaupunkt stereo that seemed to accomidate them sort-of and it all went together without epoxy, grinders or welding.
