Are all XK engine camshaft covers interchangeable? I have a 1986 XJ6 with the 4.2 liter XK engine, and I need to find a used LH cover.

well don't count your blessings yet - I've been told they fit, I've been told they don't fit, I've been told a polished aluminum 3.8 engine valve cover turns blue from the heat of a 4.2 engine, i've been told it does not.
(that's why the 4.2 valve covers are ribbed and black), So you have the honor of conducting the first experiment.

If it doesn't work, post the result here, and I will put you in contact with a shop who can find you the right valve cover for your engine.
