The gas pedal on my 1967 E-type S1 FHC sticks down when I accelerate hard. It only sticks when I am driving the car, so I have been unable to track down the problem. Sometimes it pops back with a snap, but other times it only pops back when I hit the brakes. This is a left hand drive car with three SU carburators. I dont see anything in the system that can catch, but I must be missing something. All the springs seem strong, and adding another spring to the gas pedal inside the car did not help.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any ideas on how to track it down?

Sounds like loose motor mounts to me.

Hi Curtis,
It sounds like either the engins mounts needs to be relpaced, the engine needs to be re-centered between the frame rails and/or there is a shim missing from under your RH engine mount. You most likely find the paint scratched away on the top frame rail under the carbs.
Cheers,
