Does anyone know a good way to get into a 94 XJS when the door locks are inoperative. I had to leave the car out last night (ice in my steep driveway kept me from getting it into the garage). I came out this morning and the door locks (electronic) did not work, so I couldn't get into the car. I can get to the trunk, tried warming the keys in the locks (keys turned fine) but the doors would not unlock.
Does anyone know any next tricks or have you seen this problem before?

thanks!
John

John,
when you turn the key do the chrome inner door lock flap things go forward, they should. If they do and the door still does not open you may just have moisture on your weatherstripping and be frozen to the door frame.. They should get dried and a good coating of silicone emulsion applied. This can be purchased from all GM dealers from their parrts department. This prevents the strips from becoming frozen to the frames, otherwise the frames can get frozen solid to the rubber. This stuff prevents deterioration of all rubber period, you need to rub it in well it works to make them supple again as new,.

I just reread my post and I didn't make it very clear. I have had the locks become inoperative (just a slight clicking sound) due to being frozen. After it warmed up, the locks worked.

I have also had the doors themselves freeze shut due to moisture on the door sill. Once again, sunshine cured it.

I had this happen to me a couple of times. The doors are probably frozen. For me, even though the door is not locked, sometimes there is enough moisture for the doors to freeze shut and I am unable to get them open. Had to leave it in a parking lot one night and come back to it after the sun warm ed it up.

Good luck,
