My car is right now in a garage 10 minutes away from Grand Central Station.
I would like a technician to inspect it in the coming days. How do I find a good one? The car was described by the seller as ...

" ... rust free. So are the lower doors, floors, and underside.
Underneath it is structurally sound. There are two inserts in the
floors, both on the left hand and right hand side. They are commonly
replaced after a period of time. The car is in good condition."

"The suspension seems good as well as brakes. The gearbox appears fine. There is absolutely no visible rust. Everything else on the car appears to be in good condition, and nothing else needs to be done" (meaning after the clutch is replaced and the engine rebuilt).

So, this is that bad! But thank you. I still prefer to know the truth.

I bought it at the end of April. But i am still waiting for it since the rebuilding of the engine is not yet completed.

The seller and the mechanic told me that the car was in rather good condition and rust free as described on ebay, other websites and again through emails exchanged with the professional seller. Yet the person failed to tell me that the car stayed two years in a barn. I just read about it 2 days ago. On the contrary, i was told that it was was a very "healthy and reliable car".

The asking price was $52 000 including the replacement of the clutch, the rebuilding of the engine and the painting of the front hood. I figured but certainly wrongly that i could enjoyed the car for 3 to 5 years then spend around $20-30 000 to make it very nice (I mean, i believed that the price of a very nice Series 1 would range from $70 to 80 000. But, maybe the price that I paid is just too high in regard to the condition which as I discovered now is neither rust free nor in good condition.

The seller and I had a serious argument about the rebuilding of the engine. Before finally agreeing on what was promised, he offered me to buy it back. I refused since the deal was respected. But i got even more cautious and took more time to inspect it (I have been abroad most of the time during the past months).

Please any advice is more than welcome.
