My 1967 OTS is starting to develop a loud fuel pump clicking from initial start up. My experience from other english cars has been that this is a signal that the tank is very low or a replacement pump is in order. Believe the original pump is still being used, no after market product has been installed. Will be checking line leading into pump as a cause along with rubber grommets on bracket. Any suggestions as to a check list to possible causes or recommended solutions would be appreciated.

Fuel Pump
The clicking means that the pump is working fast, it could be pulling in air, low on fuel or, more likely, it is filling up the system, Perhaps you are losing fuel from a small leak etc when it is parked and it has to prime every time you restart! Does the clicking stop after a few minutes? Jaguar affectionado and etc.
Originally the pump would click as soon as the key was turned but would stop in a few seconds, after that only to keep pressure in the line. Now the clicking is constant and does not change with the rpm's. No fuel leak detected, but will be checking the inlet line to the pump.
