I recently mentioned to a good friend that I was thinking of buying a '91-94 XJ6 and he said "My grandfather has one he never drives if you're interested". Well turns out it's a '91 with about 24,000 original miles. His grandfather is in his 80's and bought it new. I'm wondering how much I should offer if it checks out mechanically. My other question is regarding the "Euro" headlights. Why do some 91's have 4 round headlights and others have the 2 large square ones? I'm particularly partial to the European-looking pre-95 models. Thanks!

In simplest terms, the 4-round lights arrangement was fitted to the more basic models and the "Euro" lamps were fitted to the upper-line models. This is not always a clear cut thing, though, due to the many marketing variations of the cars.
