Dick,

I had a couple questions at our judges meeting that I couldn't answer. The first was something that came up at the AGM and I don't know what the final resolution was.

For one of my XJ6 VDPs I have everything that came with it, I have the overmats, the manuals, including, radio, passport to service, radio security codes, etc. I also have the casette, touch-up paint, cigar lighter insert that you could plug a 12V thing into (don't know exactly how that worked), and the sunroof crank.

I know all the manuals must be present. Besides that, which of those items would receive a deduction for not being present?

Mark,
In earlier years, and to this point, the JCNA Concours Rules have not addressed the "little extras" you listed. Except for the basic Owner's Manuals and, most recently, factory original footwell rugs/overmats, JCRC has not tried to add such "extras" to the judging requirements.

Aside from the overmats, manuals and tools, JCRC essentially has limited judging to factory original items and authorized accessories that attach somewhat permanently to the car.

As more model-specific Judging Guides are approved, they may reveal that certain "little extras" should be present with specific models. However, until there is a JCNA approved reference/guide which sets the standard for those models and their "extras", I don't believe they should be judged.

Also, the latest rules, and the level of judging detail they require, already fill the allotted 15 minutes of judging time. Something will have to give if anything more is added.
