Am having my XJS repainted. Original coach stripes had been removed and replaced by side moldings. I plan to remove the molding and add the coach stripes back. I was able to learn the style used from our Technical & Originality Library but can't find a reference to color. The photos shown appear to be a light gold however I don't know if that was the exclusive color or if different body colors came with different color striping.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re.: Coach Stripes Question
Just to make sure that I am following correctly - - the last six digits of my VIN are 131513 so my correct coachline color would still be goldleaf . . . ?
Thanks!

Re.: Coach Stripes Question
Right you are Steve--I was looking to his 1989 and should have been clear that there were later changes. Thanks.

Re.: Coach Stripes Question
For anyone that is interested, here is the chart for what amounts to '90 -'91 cars. We all know VIN breaks sometimes are kind of blurry.
The chart George posted doesn't say it, but it is for cars up to the VIN on this chart.
Cheers,

Re.: Coach Stripes Question
Keith Dick Cavicke has the samples that JCNA holds. He monitors this thread or you could write him and ask for a pic or a scan. The over the counter stuff is too bold in my estimate.

Re.: Coach Stripes Question
Just thought of another question George. The chart says my coachlines are to be goldleaf. If there a 'specific' Jaguar version of Goldleaf or is a generic 'goldleaf' suitable when trying to stay original? Thanks again!

Coach Stripes Question
Keith I had mis understood your question. I found the charts for your car and wrote you a long response last eve. Problem is the forums hen went down for a while. Please give me a call on the JCNA tech. line and I can sort your coachlines out for you.

Coach Stripes Question
Thank You for your responses - unfortunately they didn't help resolve my color issue.
Michael - Geoff Green's guide is where I found the style used and the two examples are both in gold but I can't find anything that tells me if gold is the only color that was available and/or if that is the appropriate color to go with Westminster Blue paint
George - the section of the JCNA rule book that you suggested confirms that pin stripes are authentic but it also does not address colors available and/or color used to compliment Westminster Blue.
So my question remains unanswered - - any other iseas about where I might find out?

Coach Stripes Question
Keith have you looked at the JCNA rule book---Chapter VI pages 9-12. There you will find a list of coach stripes (pin stripes).

Coach Stripes Question
Hi Keith, I went through exactly the same thing a couple of years ago. Please check the 1976 to 1991 judging guide by Geoff Green (downloadable) . It shows the different types of coachlines Jaguar used.
