Hole in a 1973 2+2
I'm not sure where the starter is on a V12, but that's pretty close to where you would want to cut a hole to get to the starter on a six

Hole in a 1973 2+2
looks like an access hole for the transmission. Mine has a JT5 gearbox and i had the mechanic drill a hole to get to the filler. it's more or less in the same spot... but i can't imagine someone drilling THRU the carpet!!!
cna't be a hole for the A/C drains, they're inside the console...
