It has come to my attention that I may have an incorrect bolt on the inside folding frame. I believe it is part number BD20359 "pivot
bolt, securing No.1 link to No.2 link". Please see the following link for a photo of the bolt that I currently have on my car. This is the ONLY bolt that XK's and SNG Barrett carry for that part number.

I did some cursory looking in a Phillip Porter book "Orig. Jaguar E-Type..Restorer's Guide". On page 24 in the upper left is a picture of an early E-Type that has the "flat-faced" bolt on the link point.

Then, in the Series 2 portion of the book on page 67, upper left photo, this link bolt is clearly the chrome type. Just underneath that photo is one that shows a domed nut that has been painted (clearly a mistake by someone). All four of the photos on this page are of the same car.
Yes, I realize that many of the cars in these books have been restored and are not particulary correct.

So, I would like to hear from someone with a very original 4.2 (1966) series 1 E-type to find out which bolt is correct. (I scanned the Judging Guide and there is no mention of these bolts.)

Thank you for your input.

Thanks Richard; I suspect these bolts are going to be very hard to find by themselves as they connect two major top frame pieces. I will probably have to make a pair myself on the lathe. I don't expect SNG or XK's to rush out and make a supply.
