Just bought a 1999 XJ8, currently showing a Stability and Traction contol error. Car runs and drives fine, any suggestions?

Traction and stability control error.
This would be active upon first starting the car? I will check the tires as you suggested.

Traction and stability control error.
Although I'm not specifically familiar with this model, I do have a suggestion. Check the condition, size and type of your tires. ABS, traction control, and stability control systems are often dependent on speed sensors in each wheel hub assembly. If the tires are mismatched, they may turn at different speeds. The control unit would read this as an error.
making sure the tires re te rigt size doesn't cost anything... also how old is the battery? when starting the car, turn on the inition and wait a few seconds for the conputer self check to complete. on a weak battery, cranking will cause voltage to drop and mess up the abs/track computer initialization. this as been mentioned by a few uys altoug wen te battery started going down on te xkr, it never caused a trac error...
or a bad weel sensors... otherwise... it's the ab$ computer (note the $ sign...)
