I am very interested in converting my tranny to one of the 5 speeds available. XK's offers one but there is about a 6 week lead time. Classic Jaguars also offers one, they have them in stock and theirs comes with the modified drive shaft. Has anyone had any experience with either of these transmissions. Any words of advice?

5 speed transmission for series 3 E type
I'm not familiar with CJ's although I have many of their other upgrades on my 72 and have always had great service.
I have the original JT5, installed 5 years and 60k miles ago (including some track time) and absolutely love it. It's a bolt in, no modification deal whcih really transform the car.. yet it looks stock.
shifting is nice and crsip, and at 90mph the engine is only turning 3000rpm and can cruise all day...

I've also had a good experience with my Medronics conversion. I'm acutally using their Series 3 box in my Series 2 2+2. Five years, no problems. Sweet mod.
