IÆve accidentally reversed the polarity of my battery temporarily. After correcting the problem, the car will not start. I checked the fuse boxes inside near the driver, passenger, and the center console (checked out OK). The radio, headlights, and other accessories work in the first ignition position, but when I try to start the car, the dashboard is blank, and the engine donÆt even attempt to crank. Can someone tell me a good start for troubleshooting? I assume that I damaged some kind of module or relay.

Ken,
Sounds like you cooked yourself up a big problem. Reverse polarity can cook a bunch of the computer stuff that makes your car run. Sounds like you've done that. I'm not familiar with the 90's XJ6's so can't tell you where to look.
However, you should post this to the XJ6/Moderns tech forum. Technical questions should be there, not on the general discussion forum. Also, try the XK6 forum on www.jag-lovers.org. There are a lot of techies over there too who might be able to help you. I may be disremembering, but I also think there is a technical guide available for download off that site as well.
Good luck.
