In looking through the "Operating, Maintenance and Service Handbook" for my '67 XKE I found no reference as to fuel requirements. My car is a late series which maintains the triple SU carborator set up. Compression ration is 9:1. I currently use an un-leaded premium grade of 93 octane. My question is to the use of a lead additive. As I understand things the lead used in earlier fuels had a lubricsation effect on valves. Although the car is not a daily driver, but rather a nice weather weekender, I wonder as to any adverse affect by using un-leaded fuel.....

Thank you for any advice...

First of all, the octane posted on the pump (in the US) is the average of research and motor octane. 93 pump octane premium will probably be in the range of 96-98 research octane. There's no need for octane boosters.

Jaguar motors have hardened seats, there's no need for lead to protect against recession.

Just add gas and drive.....
