Hi Guys!
I spent the last few months looking for the perfect XJ6 and it showed up here in Birmingham just last weekend! I am the proud owner of a 1985 XJ6 with 77K original miles. Belonged to a local couple and after the passing of the gentleman's wife, the car sat for a bit. Apparently he decided to put it back on the road and spent close to $5K over the past year and a half refurbishing everything from the tranny to new AC, brakes/rotors, flush and reseal gas tanks, new coil....you name it, it was probably addressed. The car showed up on a lot after he traded it to a TOYOTA (AGHHH) dealer. Fortunately, I saw the ad pronto, checked the books and got the POs name. Made a quick call to the local indy (who I had already spoken to a couple of times about XJs) and he knew the car and had all the records. I felt like a kid at Christmas! The interior is in beautiful condition. All chrome is excellent. It needs paint to clear the crazing in the clear coat, but it still shiny and nice from 10 feet. All in all, I could not be happier. Spent the last several years playing with older MBs and decided I couldn't ignore my inner cat any more. Will post some pictures later on.
Thanks!
Terry

Re.: New XJ6 Series III Owner
Thanks, Marsha! The car is actually a cream/tan color, not white, with taupe leather and carpeting. The color combo really gives the car a "classic" feel. I was looking for blue or grey, but when I saw this one, the color was perfect. All the mechanical work was gravy...:) I've only seen one other one on Ebay this color (and I looked at alot of them before buying), which is why I was wondering if it were uncommon.
A couple more...I can't help it...

Re.: New XJ6 Series III Owner
Thanks everybody! I'm going to try to post a picture....if I screw it up, I'll try again! One week into it and I'm still thrilled...I just go out into the garage and stare at it. I may need therapy. Is this car an unusual color? I haven't seen another one...

Re.: New XJ6 Series III Owner
Congratulations. You are the owner of one of the best automobiles ever built.....comfort, style, great road manners, and built like the proverbial tank.
Take good care of the old girl and, in return, you'll be rewarded in more than equal measure.
Cheers

Hi, Terry...I share your excitement...we just purchased ours thru a lady that is now widowed and wanted a Toyota 4 runner...amazing? We joined the Seattle Jag Club excursion on the Run to the Gorge from Tacoma, WA to Hood River Oregon. 65 entries and 43 rally runners. We came in 2nd overall on our first outing. I feel good for you...Vern
