Own a 2001 XJ8 - getting a irratating drumming noise in front suspension during shallow bumps - speeds around 25-30 mph

Accentuated when it is cold - makes slight grinding sound over speed bumps - could this be bad bushings, wheel bearings faulty?

Dealership just replaced front shocks - now drumming is even worse.

Any thoughts out there

Hello Walter
First; regret to point out that this should be in XJ technical forum.
I will answer your question and request that you post any follow up in XJ technical forum.
There are several points that could make the sound you describe, here they are, most likely too least likely:
#1. Ball joints lower and/or upper.
#2. Control arm bushings, lower and/or upper.
#3. Front Sway bar links.
#4. Front Sway bar bushings.
#5. Tie rod ends.
#6. Power steering rack mount bushings.
#7. Failed engine or transmission mount.
#8. Air box not remounted correctly.
#9. Bumper fascia / air dam or under body shield mount broken.
#10. New shocks defective?

Have a great day.
