Re.: XKE Fan Motor
Hi Glen,
You're far enough up the food chain of the company that owns
our favorite car company to know who to contact to obtain a FREE site for a club slalom. If you could help on this matter I doubt if your wife would ever hear about the new Pony heading your way!
See you at the Wine & Cheese on the 23rd.
Bob
PS Never share secrets here as there are too many of the Michigan Mob that hanging around !

Re.: XKE Fan Motor
Hey Patrick -- yes indeedie doodie, partner! I'm thinking there may be a new Stallion in the stable this fall, next to the Cat in the corner. Over the years, I've owned/rebuilt four Mustangs -- three '67s (coupe, convertible and fastback) and a '70 Mach 1. I've always like the muscular look of the late '60s 'Stangs, which the new one emulates in a modern reinterpretation of the Original Pony car.
(PS: Don't tell my wife!!)

Hey Glenn...is that retro-styled Mustang fine or what?!! I just saw it on Good Morning America this morning. Man, I hope they produce it; Ford will sell hundreds of thousands of them. I am sooo tired of the current look of the Mustang! Now if they could just get the GT-40 down to the mid-sixties! Also, I think Pontiac missed the boat with the GTO...sure, big engine, but no muscle-car styling. Still looks like a jellybean.

Re.: XKE Fan Motor
I just got a new aluminum radiator and two Coolcatcorp.com fans for my Ser. II (1970 FHC). The nice part of the fans is not only the fan unit itself, but the blades. The fans (6 blades) are supposed to move significantly more air than the old 4-bladed fans. Very nice products. NAYYY, just a happy customer. Also picked up the spin-on oil filter conversion and easy drain plug while I was at it.

Tom:
Patrick has a good suggestion -- check out the link to CoolCat Express Corp (914.234.2083 Owner: Mike Frank). For a little more than $100, you get a new replacement motor and modern fan for your car -- a blessing for those hot-blooded Cats -- even in cold-blooded Michigan!
If you want to stay with your OE motor, try Specmo Auto Sound and Speed on Woodward in Royal Oak (248.399.5645) or Universal Electric Motor Service in Berkley (248.584.6990)

Re.: XKE Fan Motor
Tom: Almost any local electric motor shop should be able restore it for you, just call ahead to see if they work on small British car motors.
Another option is to get a Hemmings Motor News and find a place that specializes in small motor rebuilds. Yes, if brushes is all it needs, you may be able to do the job yourself, depending on how handy you are. If you have a driver and care more about cooling than appearance, you might spend the money on a Cool Cat fan.
Good luck!

Hey John, what's wrong with purple? I thought that you told me that was the way they came on your brand new 69 or was that the radiator? Take care my friend,

Re.: XKE Fan Motor
Don't let Bob get his hands on it. He'd probably paint it purple...

Re.: XKE Fan Motor
Tom, have you looked at it to see what's wrong? If it's just brushes you should be able to find them or adapt something else to fit. Are you in the Michigan club?
