After having my XJ6C broken into, I was successful in obtaining the replacement glass, but so far the Jaguar shop that I have used for many years, just can't get the glass alinged so as not to leak profusely and create a lot of wind noise. The wind noise, I undertand, was always a problem with these pillarless models, but I can't even wash the car without a torrent of water entering the vehicle. The original had some wind noise, but never leaked.
And since it is a driver and I reside in Seattle, I have to be able to drive in the rain. I am in hopes that someone in the Seattle area reads this and can recommend a specialty glass shop, Jaguar technition or a JCNA memeber who has had experience with the XJ6C model and a similar situation.
I am also having difficulty finding the brushed aluminum facia plate that surrounds the radio that was destroyed when the car was broken into. Any leads would be most appreciated.
Thanks to George Camp for notifying me that he may have a radio for placement in my XJ6C. I look forward to it's arrival.
Regrds,
Alan R McWain

Re.: Experienced techniction to adjust door glass.
Hello Alan
I would call your local domestic auto glass shops, explain what your problem is and ask if they can help.
A good auto glass shop can handle anything from a Rolls-Royce to a Yugo and get a good seal.
Have a great day.

Funny, who would want a 1975 XJ-C radio ? another XJ-C owner. I would hire a detective on this one. I know someone who's selling a silver XJ-C that looks complete from the street, although rusty in the rocker panels, maybe it has the part you want.
Atrition: my definition of Atrition is: the gradual dissapearance of something made in numbers by the wear and tear, destruction, and passing of time.
Has anybody noticed how many Series 3 XJ-6, VDP, and Sovereign are being destroyed, junked, or sold in parts ? I dare say a staggering number,
everyone seems to be parting out a S3 XJ-6, East to West, North to South; I don't know how many S-3 XJ-6/12 were sent to the US from 1980 thru 1987, but it sure looks like there won't be many left around in 10 years, most will be junked in salvage yards. Did Nostradamus predict this ? I'm hoarding XJ-6 parts like I'm hoarding water, 98 octane fuel, food, lighters, oil, THE END IS NEAR folks ! (well, at least for choice S3 XJ's).
