Greetings!
Left Florida towing my 24 ft. closed trailer, bound for Phoenix, and the BIG SHOW. Stopped here in OK (1300 miles) for a short visit with Sue's Mom while she has cataract surgery. 1,008 more miles to Phoenix, then 2,700 miles back to NH. Poor SUE! She has to sit and read Grisham novels to me so I'll stay awake!
I'm taking this opportunity to do a little cleaning on the E type, as it's been neglected for the past few months. The quick rebuild that I did in FL between track events in January, seems to be working out well. On the fresh engine, I currently have 3500 miles, and only added 2 qts of oil. That was added in the first 500 miles, 300 of which were at speed on the track! I now have done 36,000 miles since finishing the resto. in May of Y2K. Don't know if anyone else is doing average of 1,000 miles per month on their E type. I know that I'm loving it!

Can't wait to partake of the fantastic schedule of events arranged by Chairman Eynon's committee. I checked with Registrar Hilgeman, and can report that there's plenty of room for more of you folks! War, stock market, or maybe just late entries, have kept numbers low to this point. We've really had great support from our sponsors this year. Our membership needs to demonstrate some enthusiasm, so that these sponsors will join in again in 2005!
IT'S NOT TOO LATE FOR YOU TEXAS AND CALIFORNIA FOLKS TO SIGN UP!
We've located this year's Challenge Championship in Phoenix, specifically for the convenience of you folks. This is to be a fantastically entertaining celebration of the Jaguar Marque, and one that you'd be sorry to have missed. Bear this in mind:
WE'RE GONNA BE DEAD FOR A LOOONG TIME!
There's no point in missing this party!
Like I said, there's room for you, the stage is set, now we need you to take the final steps and join the party!!!

Gary and Pascal:

I was really looking forward to Phoenix before I learned that there were two conflicts. First, our All-Texas Clubs "Spring Fling" is set for April 25th-27th in Round Top, Texas. Phoenix was still a possibility until I remembered that the Lakewood Yacht Club Concours d'Elegance was set for May 2nd and 3rd. This is one of the premiere concours in the Southwest USA, and it's a show I try not to miss. The display of my E-Type is particularly important this year due to it being national champ (C-5). There are only 8 or 9 of us (out of the Houston Club) showing at Lakewood this year.

So with these two events, I'm afraid I had to decide to pass this year...but I'll be ready for the next one (unless it's in Maine)!!

From what I've heard in the grapevine, there is a freshly restored side-latch E-Type coming out of San Antonio, and a freshly restored 3.8 liter E-Type OTS coming out of Austin....so beware!!

I'm sure it will be a fantastic show...wish I could be there. When and where is the next CC?

and I can attest that you were passing a lot of supposedly faster cars at Roebling ... hardly babying that engine!

you know, it looks like turnout will be similar to Colorado and lower than Franklin...

I guess those guys from out west aren't real enthusiasts... you're right Phoenix is within a day drive from California, Texas, etc... there should be twice as many entries... no excuses... :-)

Now we know where the real Jaguar enthusiasts are...
