When I turn on the ignition(engine not running)my oil pressure gauge pegs to the right,indicating full ground instead of variable ground via the sending unit. When I remove the wire from the sending unit,gauge drops to zero as it should.I thought maybe I had a grounded wire in the harness but when I remove the wire to the sending unit,gauge drops.Has anyone seen a sending unit with direct internal grounding? Any thoughts? Bruce

It turned out that the GAUGE was bad-The internal gauge ground circuit to body was non existent.
