My 1961 Mark 2 3.8 is FINALLY coming back together. The question for today is how the two piece rubber seal for the boot lid goes on. Should the seam be at the top and bottom or on the sides? Thanks.

Mark 2 boot lid seal
Thanks for the reply. The parts book show a two piece seal, and the one I received is in two equal length pieces. What they don't show, and the service manual doesn't describe, is how they go on.
The seams could be on the sides, or at the top and bottom.
Thanks again.

Mine has a 1 piece seal with the seam on the right side. Check the fit and see how yours assembles. It would be odd if it could go in more than one way.
Tom,
Thanks - I'm thinking that that seams at the sides would make the most sense, but sometimes what makes sense to me is not what is on the car.
