The cooling fans on my '72 V-12 E type run when the key is turned on. This is a recent development. Where do I start looking?

Cooling fans run when key is on.
Thanks Michael, worked (actually stopped running) just as you described. New Otter switch on the way.
Thanks again.

Cooling fans run when key is on.
Sounds like your Otter switch is misbehaving. Climb under the front of the car and look at the hose in the bottom center of the radiator. There is an electrical device there with 2 wires plugged into it. Unplug the center wire and see if the fans turn off. If they turn off you have a bad Otter switch. If they don't you have a bad relay. The relays are mounted on top of the radiator and are more difficult to get to than the Otter switch.
Glad to help!
