The radio antenna on my Series II FHC (mounted on the passenger rear fender)appears to be pushed all the way down. Only a small portion of the top of the antennae is visible and it contains two vertical slots. Are these slots for a special tool? Any advice on how I can extend the antennae into its upright position?

Dennis,
I used a toll like a "C" retainer Clip removal tool. Looks like pliers w/ needle points on the tips. No turning needed. Be careful not to slip and scratch the paint. Need to pinch and pull. Once a little bit protrudes up you can grab it w/ regular pliers and some protection of the mast w/ a towel. Let us know if you get it!!!!

William - once I insert the two thin tools, do I turn the mast like a screw?
Danny - what process did you use to get the antenna to extend?

Yes, I believe that is the top of your antenna mast - mine was pushed way down on my series III too - It took a bit of patience, but I got it up eventually.

Yes, those slots are for a small key but two thin tools should work.
Danny - Just used a "C" retainer clip tool and it worked like a charm! Thanks!
