2nd time now I've gotten a P0442 code indicating a small leak in the EVAP system. A reset and erase and it doesn't return for awhile. Any ideas where I should look. There's nothing apparent and drivability remains unchanged.

See if you can hunt down Bulletin 303-S845. It describes a vapor pipe that can corrode internally and cause rust particles to fowl the Canister Close Valve. After 10 years, your pipe could have corroded again. If the Close Valve fails, when the system tries to test itself, the valve can't seal and records a fault that there is a leak.
In your case, I think that is the first thing to check.
Good luck!

2001 XK8 amber engine light on.
Well Joseph the following are listed by Jaguar in order----Fuel cap seal defective---EVAP canister damage, pipework damage-----Evapp valve to ECM drive circuit-----Evapp valve power supply open----Evapp valve to engine purge pipe damage/blocked/leaking----Evapp valve operating vacuum hose leak/blockage---Evapp valve failure---fuel tank leak. Check all of those out and you should find your issue.
Steve not check the fuel cap? I am lazy I guess! Keep up the good work!
