What is the length from the tip of the oil dip stick to the stop ring? The stop ring has been repaired and I want to make sure it is the correct height. Thanks

Jeffery; My car, a 1970 2+2 with a 4.2 engine, has a oil dip stick that measures 9 3/4" from tip to stop ring. The tip of the dip stick has a 'E' stamped into it also. Whether that means 'empty' or for 'E Type' I don't know. Sorry for the delay. Joel.
