Car is complete and back from restoration shop. When turning, the lower portion of the spindle is rubbing the inner wheel and there doesn't appear to be any adjustment short of grinding the lower portion to create some clearance. Anyone experienced this problem? Car looks and runs perfectly until I make a turn.

To rule out the wheels being the problem, switch out the right and left wheel front wheels. If problem moves to the other side of the car, then the wheel is the problem. But man, if it were that much out of round, I would sure think you would feel it while driving! And if the spokes are so loose that they are shifting in a turn, quit driving the car...very dangerous!
And yes, I agree with Mike that the hub and ball joint are "as one" and should not move at all in regards to clearance.
Check to make sure your wheel bearings are loose either!

Doug, dont know if these help, but I took a couple pics of my S2 lower ball joints.
my car is a mid production, actually a 69, but ironically the exact same color combo..
the car is a one family car and these are original ball joints and wheels.

How can I be certain these are the original wheels? I guess I'm just assuming they are since everything else on the car was original.

All the wheels needed were polished. I am going to rotate them since I didn't experience this problem prior to the restoration.

Have you checked to see if the restorer had the wheels trued? If so, I would suggest that the wheel technician didn't do the "dish" correctly....

It is a series II and the rubbing occurs on right turns. These wheels are original.
My engineer/restorer was able to modify the lower knuckle to clear the gap between the wheel. All's well now, thanks for the inquiry.
