Hi Chris,
I am not familiar with the Series III but electrical systems are electrical systems right, yeah right, that effect the flow of electricity to and from the battery I would start by performing a component ground check with a continuity tester, it is amazing what problems a bad/poor corroded ground can cause. You may have an open circuit somewhere in an electrical component, connector or wiring harness, sometimes wriggling wires make it go away. you may also have a bad CPU.
