I just purchased a 1974 E-Type with the original ER 70/VR 15 Dunlop Sport tires. These tires no longer exist. What would be the current equivalent size that would fit the car without rubbing.

1974 E-Type tire size
The original post refers to a V12 which takes different tires from a 6 cylinder. E70-15 is right in between 205/70-15 and 215/70-15. The original reproduction Dunlop E70-15 tires are available new if you really want it correct.

Stephen, I for one can feel your pain. With so many european cars coming originally with our size why won't someone produce them at a reasonable price.
To answer your question the best I can. my 69 came with 185 VR 15 which closely relates to a 185/75 R 15 Which is not available or a 175/80 R15 (close but not original that also is not available. 185hr15-vredestein-tires from XKS or the like are your only option that I know of that are readily available. I just noticed they increased their price by 16 bucks each so they are 199 plus shipping and tubes etc etc etc.
I Wish our association along with the Triumph and Austin Healy folks could get together and push a major manufacture to build some high speed tires at a reasonable cost.
Good luck Bruce

Why do you think they no longer exist. Check with Universal or Sasco. I am pretty sure they do.
For what it's worth, I am running Pirelli 205/70VR15's on my 1971 Series 3 V-12 2+2 Coupe and they look great. The spare fits nicely into the tire tub. It's tight, but does not rub anywhere in the tub, nor in the wheel wells.
