Hi
I would like update my E TYPE V12 1973 with K & N filters and remove the original air boxes.
it seems there are 2 sizes (height) of round filter part #number K&N 56-1622 and K&N 56-1620.
do you know which one fit on the car?
did somebody did this update ?

K&N air filter update
The V12 uses the same filter as the XJ6/1 and XJ6/2 which is a flat retangular filter, not round. K&N # 33-2011. It takes two.

Hey Jerard,
If you are looking for more performance removing the factory air filter boxes is not the answer. The factory runs the trumpet pick up air horn ahead of the radiator for a reason. You will loose about 17% of HP by taking in 150 degree air from behinde the radiator compaired to the 78 degree air from ahead of the radiator. Stromberg carburettors are already too lean. Keep the air filter housings and change your paper air filters when needed. If you live in a warm climate, remove the flex hose that goes from air cleaners to exhaust manifolds.
