Greetings! Hope my questions are not too general, but the wiring on my Mk II is getting long in the tooth. I'm contemplating replacing the wiring harness altogether, but have heard rumblings that Mk II's is hard to do. So:
- Is it just hard to do, period (which I'm expecting, anyways), or much harder than a typical vehicle?
- If the latter, what is it that makes it harder?
- The alternative would be to repair or replace individual wires, but with the colored fabric covering the wires, what's the best way to do that? Can you just splice new wire to the old wire?
Previous advice/comments have always been appreciated.

Much appreciated, Bob. I had noticed there were roughly 8 sets of harnesses in all. Presumably you also bought and replaced yours in sets. I can look this up myself, but are you aware, offhand, of a place that will sell lengths of colored wiring separately?
