I'm getting ready to install new cam cover gaskets on my Series 2 E-Type. Any suggestions on how to keep the gaskets from leaking?

Clean both head and cover very well and put a good coat of gasket sealer on both sides of gasket. Use new copper washers as that's the seal around the stud and the old ones are scored and hard and will leak. With care you'll be home free and leakless. Good chance to give the covers a good cleaning and paint touch up. I've been using Lock Tite for 50 years and it's never let me down as long as I cleaned both metal surfaces very well.....Don
