I've got a 4 spd e type trans for my ser 2.
There is missing a bolt and retaining nut located just to the right of the shifter. What I could determine is that there is within the hole where the bolt goes in a spring and ball bearing.
It seems that is bolt is an adjustment bolt of some kind as per what I could determine.
Please comment.

trans nut and bolt
The bolt and nut in question are for the reverse lock out. It is spring loaded so that you don't accidently engage reverse. The adjustment determines how hard you hit the gear lever to get into reverse. There is a spring and ball inside.
