My 30 year old XJ6's windows are getting stubborn. They stick, refuse to open and/or close. The electrics are fine. I am thinking I need to lubricate the mechanisms. What should I use and what needs to get lubed?

lubricating window mechanisms?
Let me know if you need any parts. I have 4 doors and 8 door panels.

Thanks for the tips...I've got the panels off. I had to repair a door handle on one and get the window up on the other....30 years and 245,000 miles are beginning to take their toll on the ole girl.

Richard, I would use spray lithium grease. Of course the door panels need to be removed, and you may even find a plastic covering that protects the panels from water. Once you are in there, you will be able to see every pivoting point, as you operate the window. You may even want to use a mirror to make sure you got them all. And while you are in there, do the door, lock, key mechanisum as well.
Does anyone have a good schematic drawing of the window mechanism(s)?
